Please join us for the grand launch of London for Acumen chapter of Acumen Fund on Thursday June 30, 2011! 

Thursday June 30^th at 19:00 in the surroundings of Knightsbridge’s most stylish venue, The Collection, sees the launch of London4Acumen. This event named ‘Dignity’ is the first European ‘chapter’ of the pioneering not-for-profit venture, Acumen Fund. 

Prepared to be entertained, inspired and have fun in equal measure.

The night will feature a silent auction of photos highlighting the extraordinary areas of East Africa and South Asia where Acumen Fund has invested more than $60 million in social enterprises, emerging leaders, and breakthrough ideas.

These investments centre around the importance of Choice and Dignity by blending philanthropy and entrepreneurship. As a result, our guest list for the launch night promises to be as enriching and unique as the principles it represents, bringing together diverse and influential professionals from across the academic and business arenas.

Our canapé and drinks reception will culminate with a keynote speaker from Sean Phelan a ‘Partner’ with the  Acumen Fund to explain how your support is improving the lives of the world’s poor without creating dependency.

Sean Phelan an entrepreneur and angel investor feels a strong affinity with the core goals that Acumen Fund has set itself: to invest in businesses that change lives, in ideas that change the world and in leaders who will show the way.  

'Watching the Acumen Fund operate over the last few years I have seen investment decisions being guided by strong philanthropic values and by hard-core "from the trenches" entrepreneurial experience. Their success stories demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach and I look forward to saying a little more about this on 30 June’

London 4 Acumen believes this approach will have more of a lasting impact than that of traditional charity and thus our event enables each attendee to develop a sustainable connection with Acumen Fund’s global legacy.

DIGNITY London is a one-night photo exhibition and auction benefitting Acumen Fund. Curated by the Nuru Project, a group using photography for social change the event will feature 30 Nuru’s prints for live and silent auction donated by renowned artists with the event proceeds going directly to Acumen Fund.

Programme: Photo exhibition and live silent auction, Acumen keynote presenter, entertainment, DJ – till late.  Canapes and drinks will be served.

The first 50 ticket buyers will receive a free copy of the best-selling book “The Blue Sweater”, by Jacqueline Novogratz, CEO and Founder of Acumen Fund.

If you buy 10 tickets at once, we will also send you 10 copies of "The Blue Sweater"!

Out of town, can't make it?  Not a problem, you can still support us by making a donation.  The Acumen Fund is a US registered charity so unfortnately, Gift Aid will not apply.
